
Physiotherapy for small animals
As well as dogs and horses, veterinary physiotherapy can also be beneficial for other small animals, most commonly cats and rabbits and the occasional chicken or hedgehog!
Physiotherapy is beneficial following surgery, trauma for example a road traffic accidents resulting in nerve damage or surgical repair to bones. It can help lameness, pain or injury, or in an older animal arthritis and stiffness.
Exercises and guidance are also provided to allow owners to help their pets recovery at home.
Physiotherapy can often be claimed on pet insurance. The first appointment will last for approximately 30-45 minutes, and consists of an initial assessment and treatment, follow up appointments will be recommended as appropriate. All animals are only treated with veterinary consent.
